Every day is Mother’s Day

Mother’s day might be over, but you shouldn’t stop showing love to your mother!

Of course, it could be tough to constantly buy gifts or take some time out of your hectic lives to make a grand home-cooked meal, so here are 3 very small gestures you can do to bring a smile to her face!

  1. Don’t grumble, be patient.

You probably find yourself in this situation very often: your mom asks you about something while you’re doing something at the same time. To many people, it’s instinctual to feel annoyance or frustration. However, it goes a long way to take a step back and look at the situation.

Before you get annoyed by your mom asking you questions on social media, you should ask yourself – how much harder was it to teach you your first few words?

It really puts things in perspective, especially when our parents can communicate their thoughts and concerns much more fluently than babies can. So be patient, and guide them through their queries.

  1. Say ‘Thank You’

Regardless of what she does, be it washing your dirty clothes or cooking a meal for you, say thank you. Sometimes, we take what they do for granted and we forget that they only do these things because they love us. So, say ‘thank you’ and show her that you’re aware of her loving efforts.

  1. Take the bill

Especially for our younger readers who have just started to work and have not picked up the bill for a family meal yet, try it! You’d be surprised, but it is a gesture that both shows your familial appreciation and pushes the idea that you’ve ‘grown up’ – something that many mothers will beam proudly at.

To end the article off, we hope that you’ve learnt something from this article that you can practice in real life! There is no better time than the present to return our mothers the love that they have showered us with our entire lives.

Always remember that our words and actions have a significant impact on their feelings, so choose them wisely.

From all of us at The Hidden Good, we hope you’ve had a memorable Mothers’ Day!
