Hamizah’s Good Advice

Meet Nur Hamizah, Palliative Care Nurse under HCA Hospice Care whom has been working for over 2 years in the field.

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF IN 1 LINE.

I’m grounded and sensitive to my environment while being calm and collected at the same time.

TELL US SOMETHING MOST PEOPLE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU.
I’m a foodie! If I have the time and money, I will use it to visit whichever food stalls that have good recommendations. After every movie I watch, I tend to check the movie out for more information immediately. I like to check out movie reviews, even better if it’s inspired by a true story. I would be curious to find out what is Ip Man like in real life and trivial information such as how Ip Man’s real son was starring in the same movie.

WHAT’S THE BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE EVER RECEIVED?
The best piece of advice that I’ve received was from my Supervisor. He told me that the work I do is very sacred. He always says, you only have one time to make it right and it’s true.

TELL US ABOUT A TIME WHEN THIS PIECE OF ADVICE CAME IN USEFUL.
When I first joined HCA, my Supervisor tried to instil the advice in me, by repeating it numerous times on different occasions. I felt that the job I’m doing now, was a godsent gift. As it felt like a calling to me when I first received this job offer. The job that I’m doing now is a very sacred job. By caring for the patients, comforting them and providing them with the best care possible.
