Meet Flo from Indonesia
Tell us about yourself in 1 line.
I do sports because I like it and also because I survived eye cancer (Retino Blastoma). Hence, exercise helps me to maintain healthy body. Beyond that, I am running a Brand & Idea Consultancy named YOFLO and am also a curator of TEDxJakarta.
Tell us something most people might not know about you.
I believe that there’s nothing impossible. If I could survive cancer, why couldn’t I survive other obstacles in life?
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
My mama always said that I should not be less confident than other people with two eyes – as I see with only one eye. I could be as smart and charming as any other person could be. Ultimately, she advised me to share the goodness in my life with others.
Tell us about a time when this piece of advice came in useful.
Her advice has been useful for a lifetime and always keeps me going – to be confident even when a classmate bullied me in primary school, to do my best in many things, to share my fortune with other kids with cancer by creating HOPBUK (a free medical record book for underprivileged cancer kids).
